Today's Time Stamps:
1. 0:04 {Confession Time} What did Mike get wrong about Genesis 2, relating to the topic of polygamy?
2. 9:16 {All Things vs. All This Through Christ?} The NIV changed Philippians 4:13 from I can do "all things" to "all this" which makes more sense to me in context. Do you think "all things" has been misused historically? Will other translations follow?
3. 14:52 and 19:57 {Unforgivable Sin in The Didache?} In the Didache, judging the spirits wrongly was included as the unforgivable sin. Could you explain why you think that is not the case?
4. 17:17 {Apathy vs. Anxiety} I have a lot of guilt/shame about not suffering for Christ the way missionaries and the persecuted church do. How do I find the balance between lukewarmness and anxiety that I'm not doing enough?
5. 27:27 {Can We Live More than 120 yrs?} How come people live more than 120 years when God said we wouldn’t in Genesis 6:3?
6. 30:39 {Spiritual Power?} How can I argue biblically against the idea that we gain personal power/status in the spiritual realm by being full of the Spirit, and how does this relate to abiding in Christ & James 5-16?
7. 37:51 {Advice for Depression & Spiritual Dryness} When I was a teen, I had depression leading to a suicide attempt. Through God I'm still here, married, and have a family. I read/study the Bible and pray, but I feel lost and far from God. Advice?
8. 42:17 {The Doctrine of Impassability} Can you help me understand the doctrine of impassability a little bit better? It's confusing for me, and I'm not sure how to relate to the Lord and bring Him my pain, knowing this doctrine.
9. 47:11 {Balancing Ministry & Family} As a young youth pastor, I am struggling to balance my desire to fully invest time and energy into ministry, with also being married with 2 young boys (2 and 1). Can you give some good principles here?
10. 51:31 {If Trump Wins, Were the Prophets Right?} If Donald Trump gets elected this year, does that somehow validate any of the false prophets from 4 years ago who prophesied that he would have a second term?

Most people don't realize that Hebrews 1 refers to the apocryphal book, "The Wisdom of Solomon" in addition to Proverbs 8. Once you do, this raises questions about whether or not Hebrews is teaching that Jesus was created, since those other books indicate that Wisdom was created and Hebrews connects Jesus to that very concept of Wisdom. We'll dig deep on that topic as we continue this detailed, verse-by-verse study of the book of Hebrews.

How often will I livestream this series?
Unlike series in the past, I won't have a particular live stream schedule for this. It won't be every week but, whenever I do make a new teaching in this series, I will try to do it on Mondays at 1 p.m. Pacific Time, to have some degree of consistency.

Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
1. 0:04 {Ethical & Happy Non-Christians?} Can unsaved people “do good works”? Why do unsaved people often appear to be happy and live seemingly ethical lives?
2. 24:11 {Calling Out False Teachers} Who is supposed to call out false teachings and false teachers? How should it be done? I'm struggling to find Scripture.
3. 31:22 {The Destruction of Jerusalem} Do you believe that in Luke 21:20 Jesus is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem for today's time?
4. 39:49 {How to Pray for our Enemies} How can we pray for our enemies biblically? Especially those actively trying to kill those you love.
5. 43:07 {Church Coffee Shops – Sinful?} A church in town opened a coffee shop in the foyer. Some say it's akin to a marketplace in the Temple, and others say since it's run at cost (or even below cost) that it's fine. What are your thoughts?
6. 48:55 {Paul & the Female Slave} Why was Paul annoyed with the possessed female slave in Acts 16:16 when she was actually telling the truth? What about Philippians 1:18?
7. 54:47 {Does God Grant Our Belief?} What does Philippians 1:29 mean when it says that God "grants" us belief in Him? Is this deterministic?
8. 1:00:29 {Anger at God’s Word?} Do you have any specific advice on how to deal with emotions while reading the Bible? Recently, I can’t even get through a few verses without feeling overwhelmed with anger or frustration!
9. 1:04:30 {Exodus: Conjugal Rights vs. Adultery?} Exodus 21:10 says a man married to multiple women shouldn't deny them conjugal rights. Isn't each instance of intimacy in that situation adultery against one wife?
10. 1:12:22 {The Purpose of The Church} What is the biblical purpose of the church, and do you believe modern Christianity is fulfilling that purpose today?
11. 1:22:46 Bonus: More commentary on question #6 above!

2. 31:45 {Christ is “God’s”?} In 1 Corinthians 3:23, what does it mean that Christ is “God’s”?
3. 37:41 {When God Protects 1 Person but Not Another} How do we respond if God spares us from harm but not others (e.g., during the recent hurricanes)? I know we should trust His will and use our resources to serve, but it is still a complex topic.
4. 42:39 {Stay Focused on Christ!} How do I keep my mind on Jesus all day? I often get so distracted and conform to the ways of people around me. This is the thing I struggle with the most. I’d love your advice!
5. 47:15 {Eschatological Connections} Do Dispensational Premillennials see a connection between John 12:31 and Revelation 20:1-3?
6. 54:04 {God’s Creation of Those Who Would Fall} If God is all-knowing and foresaw the suffering that would result from the fall of Satan, Adam, and Eve, affecting billions, why would He create them, knowing the pain that would follow?
7. 59:47 {Thoughts on The Bible Project} What are your thoughts on The Bible Project?
8. 1:05:15 {Our Motive for Good Deeds} Is it good to do good deeds purely to get heavenly rewards, since you have such great faith in the reward? Or is it bad because your motives are selfish/reward-centered and not centered around love for others?
9. 1:10:55 {Being a Stay At Home Mom} How do you find meaning in being a stay at home mom and not pursuing a career at the moment?
10. 1:17:47 {Advice for a New Youth Pastor} I just started into youth ministry. Jesus saved me in college; I never had a youth minister, and the position didn’t come with a manual. Any resources, recommendations, wisdom, etc.?

Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
1. 0:07 {Are Atheists Gullible?} Why do I say that atheists tend to be gullible?
2. 28:08 {Rapture: Do We Have a Choice?} Assuming a rapture, are we irresistibly taken, or is it a choice to leave with Him? I ask irrespective of Calvinistic irresistible grace. Luke 17:31-36 seems to indicate both.
3. 34:09 {The Multiple Beings of Polytheistic Religions} If God is one being and three persons (one “WHAT” and three “WHOs,” what would two beings of gods look like in false religions? How would those beings be differentiated in a way that the Trinity is not?
4. 40:00 {About Natural Selection} Regarding natural selection, I recently had a class on that topic in college and was a bit confused on how we, as Christians, should approach that topic with others.
5. 44:37 {No Persecution = No Godliness?} 2 Timothy 3:12 says, “All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” I’m not being persecuted. Does this mean I’m not living a godly life?
6. 49:56 {King Nebuchadnezzar – Saved?} I was wondering your thoughts on King Nebuchadnezzar. Do you think he was saved, based on Daniel 4?
7. 1:00:17 {Does Satan Always Need God’s Permission?} Does Satan have to come to God any time he messes with us? I have a friend using Job as proof that Satan needs permission to mess with us, too.
8. 1:06:17 {Jesus Calling Out for Elijah?} On the cross, why did the Jewish people think Jesus was calling out for Elijah (Matthew 27:47)?
9. 1:07:49 {Staying Encouraged in Today’s Culture} How do you stay encouraged in today’s culture? The culture is so discouraging. I sometimes feel like a failure because other Christians seem to “have it all together.” Also, how can we pray for you?
10. 1:15:06 {How You Can Be Blameless} How do you become blameless before God (Philippians 2:15-18)?
~ Bonus Prayer Request: 1:20:37 Please pray for my cousin’s 3 grandchildren. A car wreck on Friday has left one paralyzed and 2 in still in the ICU. One has had 7 surgeries so far. They are all under age 12.

Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
1. 0:05 {What Did the Pope Say?} Have some of the things Pope Francis has recently said been heretical?
2. 39:27 {Does Sin Cause Illness?} Does sinning cause physical illness? Does refraining from sinning stop it? John 9:3 and John 5:14 seem to say both are true. Is this a contradiction?
3. 43:17 {Casting Pearls before Swine} In what ways or in what situations might Matthew 7:6 be applicable today?
4. 49:24 {Was David Conceived in Adultery?} In Psalm 51:5, David says that in sin his mother conceived him. Is he saying that he has been in sin since his conception, or that his mother was in sin when she conceived him? Was David born in adultery?
5. 55:26 {Is Calvinism Heresy?} Why isn’t Calvinism more strongly condemned among non-Calvinists? The doctrine essentially teaches that God will punish people for something completely out of their control, which makes God seem unjust.
6. 1:02:35 {Is God Prideful?} Is God prideful? If our purpose in life is to glorify God, does that mean we were created only to praise Him? I know He is worthy of praise, but was He seeking praise by creating us?
7. 1:05:49 {Bible Typography} How important is Bible typography? For example, the way the KJV arranges paragraphs makes context harder to understand than in the ESV.
8. 1:10:12 {Standing With Israel?} With all of the tensions and things going on over in Israel, how should we be responding to those we’re surrounded by who hate Israel? They don’t seem to understand why we stand with Israel.
9. 1:13:56 {Was Simon Always “Peter”?} Catholics always say Jesus changed Simon’s name to Peter. However, previous verses (Matthew 16:16, John 21:15, Matthew 4:18, and Luke 5:8) refer to him as Simon Peter. Jesus says, “You are Peter…” not “From now on, you are Peter.” Was Simon always known as Peter?
10. 1:20:35 {Adam – “Leave & Cleave”?} How do you interpret Genesis 2:24? How could Adam come with such a statement, since he had no earthly mother or father?

Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
1. 0:10 {The Chosen’s New Book} Did The Chosen make their own Gospel?
2. 29:00 {Our Attitude when God Works Through Us} Is it sinful for a Christian to be pleased when God enables them to do a good work (Isaiah 64:6, Galatians 6:4)?
3. 34:27 {Is YHWH Biased?} How do we know YHWH isn't just BIASED with His Word (as one would be in any form of competition), when God says "There is no other, beside Me there is no God" in Isaiah 45:5 or "I know not any" in Isaiah 44:8?
4. 43:27 {Did Christ Become the HS?} Does 1 Corinthians 15:45 mean that Christ became the Holy Spirit? I was taught this growing up, but it seems like Modalism to me now. I can’t break from this reading of the verse since I left that group.
5. 54:30 {How to Love Your Neighbor As Yourself} What does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself? Do I put their needs equal to mine, or above mine?
6. 58:48 {Are Believers “Priests”?} What are the implications of believers being called to be "A Holy Priesthood" (1 Peter 2:5)? Does this mean we need to view ourselves as priests?
7. 1:04:00 {Typology = Eisegesis?} Is it eisegesis to interpret the Old Testament as depicting Jesus? I commonly hear this objection from Jews who say Christians are "inserting their theology into our book."
8. 1:10:29 {Tongues = Vain Repetition?} Would it be fair to consider the way some churches use tongues in opposition to 1 Corinthians 14 as a form of "vain repetition" (Matthew 6:5-8)?
9. 1:19:23 {How to Know if We Should Marry Someone} What are some biblical ways to help you decide if you should marry someone?
10. 1:24:24 {Why Evangelize?} Why should we evangelize, other than because God tells us to? If it would be God's will for someone to hear about Him, wouldn't God's will happen anyway? And based on Matthew 10:14-15, wouldn’t they be worse off?

Today's Time Stamps:
1. 0:31 {How to Pray Without Ceasing} What does it mean to "pray without ceasing" as instructed in 1Thessalonians 5:17, and how do we practically achieve this?
2. 17:44 {Proof of Annihilationism?} Does Isaiah 66:24 prove annihilationism? The only counter verse seems to be Revelation 14:10-11 and most of the Bible talks about Sheol, perishing, or the wages being death.
3. 25:35 {WHY is Cussing Wrong?} I know I'm "supposed to" believe cuss words are bad to use as a Christian, but can you help me REALLY understand why? Most of them don't "feel" wrong to say in casual settings, especially if I'm by MYSELF (home alone and I trip or something).
4. 33:11 {Demons Drowning – Why?} When Jesus cast the Legion of demons into the swine, why do they proceed to drown themselves? It showed the validity of the man being healed, but what was the actual reason for the demons to do so?
5. 38:37 {Can We Truly Learn if Forgiven?} My friend says he doesn't want forgiveness because he won't learn from his mistakes if he doesn't face consequences. How would you respond?
6. 45:26 {Must All People Hear before Rapture?} Does Matthew 24:14 teach that the rapture will not happen until all people groups hear the Gospel? Or could Christ return before this happens?
7. 53:39 {Marriage in God’s Eyes} What does it take for someone to be considered married in the eyes of God? A ceremony? A presiding religious leader? Religious words spoken? Having a legal certificate? Intimate acts?
8. 1:01:35 {Are We Judged Twice?} Are we judged twice? Luke 16:19-23 and Revelation 20:11-13 suggest so.
9. 1:09:41 {Can WE Bless GOD?} Popular worship song lyrics say things like "I bless You" (as in we humans can bless God) and "You are enough, so I am enough." Is this biblical? Does Christ's righteousness imparted onto us also make us "enough"?
10. 1:20:27 {Voting for the “Lesser of 2 Evils”?} Is it biblical to vote for “the lesser of two evils”? Could you point to something in Scripture to help us understand why or why not?
