Instead, he endured a year of trauma under a mission president who, like so many, had no professional training—only unchecked authority. That lack of training created an environment where harm was ignored, and abuse of power thrived.

In this episode, Jack shares his story—the harm he experienced, the betrayal he felt, and why the church’s refusal to acknowledge mission trauma continues to put young missionaries at risk. The hope is that by sharing his story, others who have endured this will know they are not alone.
