I talk about the memoir about my friendship that I've been working on, and the intense web of thorns that is grief and memories. I ask the really hard questions: by writing about her, am I honoring her? As the memories I write about change and morph over time, am I creating a memory of a memory of a memory of a memory? Am I, in short, erasing her?
