Interviewing your clients is exactly how I get the richest, most insightful and interesting audience insights when I write website copy for my interior design clients. The result? Website copy that deeply resonates with ideal clients.
Client interviews, for a professional copywriter like myself, is a non-negotiable part of my copywriting process. I don’t write a word of copy without gather audience data first. I even developed a signature framework REVEAL - my proprietary process for strategic website copy rooted in audience insights. And in this episode, I’m giving you a glimpse into why I collect audience insights through client interviews and the types of insights I look for.
Insights collected through customer interviews not only get you incredibly evocative customer testimonials, but they also help you gain an in-depth understanding of your clients’ unique challenges, desires and aspirations.
Once you have those insights, and weave them into your copy – your website ends up speaking directly to your clients’ experiences and expectations. By understanding your audience’s pain points, desires, and specific language they use, you transform your website from just a story about your brand into a meaningful dialogue that resonates with your ideal clients.
