He’s enjoyed successful loan spells at Wycombe, Northampton and Rochdale where he helped the club to a first promotion in more than 40 years in 2010, and he was known early on in his career for a surprise call-up to Fabio Capello's first England squad after the disastrous World Cup campaign that same year.
