Split, Croatia was never really on my radar until a few years ago, and yeah, part of that was probably Game of Thrones. But once you get there, it makes sense immediately.
In this episode, I spend 24 hours in Split, walking through Old Town, Diocletian’s Palace, the waterfront, and Marjan Hill. I also get into how to get from Split Airport to the city center, why staying near Old Town makes the trip easier, what I ate, how much English I heard there, and why Split ended up being one of my favorite destinations from the trip.
It feels dry, warm, historic, colorful, and coastal all at the same time. Kind of like Arizona or New Mexico got dropped on the Adriatic Sea and filled with marble, boats, old stone walls, and restaurants.
Opening song “Doin Time" written by Ira Gershwin, Dorothy Heyward, Bradley Nowell, and Maggie Plum; performed by Sublime.
All production by Cody Maxwell.
Artwork by Cody Maxwell.
Opening graphic assets by sonorafilms.
