Besides being an ultrarunner and a filmmaker, Joel has taken up kayaking.  He recently participated in the Seventy48 competition, which is a human-powered 70-mile aquatic race with a 48-hour cut-off. We spend most of this episode talking about this adventure before we dive into the Tacoma, WA beer scene.
