On March 4, 2008 an 18-year-old college freshman jumped naked from her own vehicle in an attempt to escape her abductor. She was shot in the back as she fled the moving vehicle and collapsed on the side of the highway as bystanders called for help. She passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital but her abductor spent the next few days terrorizing more women before he was finally apprehended. This is the story of Lauren Burk.
