Along the Copper River in south-central Alaska exist tiny outposts and towns that are scattered along its banks. They are communities that have learned to both love and revere its presence. One of those very places was Tazlina, a tiny village of 421 people (1991).

Tazlina, the residents thought, was their own little slice of heaven. A remote community that believed they were beyond the reach of the violence they had heard so much about on the news at the dawn of the 21st century. But it would be the summer of 1991 that would change the town forever. One resident would say that they had all deluded themselves into believing that their isolation would protect them and that they really knew each other. But what would be revealed in the months-long investigation headed by the Alaska State Troopers was that evil can reach even the furthest corners of the world.
