In 1931, the body of Vivian Gordon was discovered in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. She had been beaten, strangled, and left behind without her expensive fur, jewelry, or purse. But Vivian was not the kind of victim true crime usually knows what to do with.

Sonia "Sunny" Jacobs and her husband Jesse Tafero were 2 self described hippies who needed a ride when their car broke down. Walter Rhodes, a co worker of Jesse's gave the family that ride and what started off as an innocent favor would turn into a series of events that would change Sunny, Jesse and their 2 children's lives forever! Sunny would spend the next 17 years fighting for freedom in a system that worked hard against her. Through it all she would spend her time in jail spreading love and positivity, teaching everyone she could about the power of meditation. Sunny sadly passed away last year in June 2025. We want to honor her with this episode and use her story as a reminder that no matter what you're faced with keep pushing and keep hope alive. It all starts with your mindset!
