Dreams of Consciousness

251: Bones

Listen Later

Dreams of Consciousness Podcast Episode 251 features an interview with Jon "Necromancer" Woodring of Bones.
Describing Chicago trio Bones is a tricky task - so much so that the band themselves are loathe to do it. Their sound is shaped by their long history in the death metal underground, as well as classic rock and crusty hardcore.
I spoke with bassist/vocalist Jon "Necromancer" Woodring about what he's been up to since our last conversation in 2019, and why Bones is "the bastard stepchild of underground metal". He also explained why The Who's Live at Leeds became a guidestone for the band's latest album Vomit, and why they chose to record a cover of Van Halen's "She's The Woman".
My thanks again to Jon for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
