A full day of action in the Premier league yesterday as six clubs settled fixtures, and the title of champion was officially clinched by Liverpool Football Club with Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Manchester City. This if LFC’s first Premiership League title. The Red’s have recorded 86 points in 31 matches played.

"Knowing how much Kenny supported us, it is for you. He has waited 30 years, and it's for Stevie Gerrard. The boys admire you all and it's easy to motivate the team because of our great history."
Klopp was referring to to his predecessor and last Anfield manager to claim the title of England's top league, Sir Kenny Dalglish, and his former captain Steven Gerrad who just missed winning the trophy in 2012-13.
Two clean sheets to start the day.
Burnley defeated Watford, 1-NIL, Arsenal shut out Southampton, 2-NIL, and Chelsea ensured not only Liverpool’s title but that Manchester City would not repeat as Premiere League champions in 2020.
Jay Rodriguez broke through the deadlock in the 73’ minute and capitalized on a brilliant cross from Dwight McNeil to give Burnley the go ahead score in their win over Watford. Burnley finishes the day in 11th place with 42 points, Watford find themselves one point out of the regulation zone with 28 points and seven games left in the season.
Eddi Nketiah took advantage of some negligent keeper play by Southampton's Eddie McCarthy to walk in the first goal of the game in the 19’ minute to put Arsnel up 1-0.
After Jack Stephens of Southampton was shown the red card in the 85’ minute, Arsenal’s Joseph Willock capitalized on the second rebound off a free kick to ice the game for the Gunners, who now sit in ninth place with 43 points.
And Chelsea bested Manchester City, 2-1, in the final game played on June 25th in the English Top Flight to seal the title for LFC.
The boys from Stamford Bridge opened up the scoring in the 36’ minute off the right foot of Christian Pulisic, after he broke through two defenders to give Chelsea a 1-NIL lead that held into the half.
Ten minutes after the break Kevin De Bruyne scored for Man City on a looping free kick from outside the top of the penalty area into the top left corner of the cage.
Chelsea forward Willian scored on a penalty kick in the 78’ minutes for the go ahead goal that was awarded after Video Assistant Referee, or VAR, concluded Man City’s Fernandinho deliberately used his hand to prevent a goal attempt by Chelsea substitute Tammy Abraham.
Chelsea remains in fourth place and in the hunt for an automatic birth into the Champions league with 54 points, six points ahead of Manchester United and Wolves.
The game was the first home match for the Pensioners since the COVID-19 shut down.
Baseball
Major League Baseball has announced that teams will be permitted to schedule up to three “spring training games” prior to their 60 game season getting underway on July 23.
Giants president of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi told Andrew Baggerly of The Athletic that he anticipates a reduced volume of player transactions during the 2020 season, both for his club and around the game.
The Rays are set to add super prospect Wander Franco to their 60 man player pool, according to Jesse Sanchez and Juan Toribio of MLB.com
