27 YEARS ON PLANET G : 1998-2025 SARAH G DJ MIXES x 77

G-FORCE

Live DJ Mix by Sarah G (2004)

A particularly fierce Hard Dance mix from 2004, still on the vinyl ones n twos kicking some plastic ass with a few CD tracks thrown in here and there. The details of these tunes are not so heavily embedded in my brain, so any tune ID requests may take a bit longer than usual. Bear with me whilst I sift through my vinyls!

FIRM N FRUITY

1999 Live Vinyl Mix by Sarah G

Unmastered Original Mixtape : Side B

Part 2 of this absolute classic mix tape from early 1999 making a long awaited digital debut. Better get yourself a vomit bowl...

Special thanks to Tempest Records in Birmingham for supplying my vinyls - this dates back to the days before the internet when I spent any free time possible hogging the decks on the upstairs floor listening to mountains of tunes and talking at people on a Saturday morning.

Thank you for the music.

1999 Live Vinyl Mix by Sarah G

Unmastered Original Mixtape : Side A

This is one of my very early tapes from 1999. It has never been available online before and only a select few will have ever owned a copy of the tape. I am so proud to share it with you at last.

Forbidden Crew, this reminds me of you.

Thank you for some of the best times of my life.

WARNING : MAY CONTAIN FIERCENESS

A One Shot Live Unedited CDJ BREAKS Mix by Sarah G.

Plenty Big Enough to Batter Your Bassbins.

Yes my mixer is still dead!! This is another one handed mix from PlanetG so apologies if it's occasionally wobbly (like me), evidence of issue on very last track where we loose stereo for a second but there's no way I'm recording it all again! Got cramp in my fingers from pressing my fader down throughout the whole mix... Loved every second though, hope you do to.

Live CDJ Breaks Mix 06 August 2013

WARNING : THIS HOUSE MIX CONTAINS BASS. PRESS PLAY AND RAISE VOLUME FOR MAXIMUM EFFECT. DO NOT BE ALARMED WHEN TAKING G's AURAL MEDICATION - WHEN A BASSLINE DROPS YOU MAY LOOK LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU. THIS IS A NORMAL BASSFACE REACTION. DO NOT FIGHT IT. NOD REPEATEDLY AT ANYONE NEARBY. THEY WILL UNDERSTAND.

Huge apologies this mix is not up to my usual G Spec - my mixer was broken and I spent most of my time keeping one hand pressing down on one of the faders to maintain stereo from the left deck and couldn't do all my usual twiddly bits.

CHILLEDISH BEHAVIOUR

Live Mix by Sarah G (05June2013)

*Original Unedited Version

This mix is part of a Music Wars game I was playing with someone who loves Reggae, Ska, Soul, Jazz & early classic house. The challenge was to do a CD that would tickle their fancy in a G-Stylee.

I had an absolute ball tune shopping specifically for this CD and found some amazing artists, producers and record labels that I would never normally have investigated. This is definitely the start of something very special and new for me in my old age.

SLIGHT TECHNICAL HITCH

My kit is in a sorry state having just relocated Planet G to a new dimension and I had major problems with my mixer. My left deck would only play in stereo if I pressed the fader down in a certain way (you know the one) so before you think I'm Phase Button Happy - I'm really not, I don't even have the damn orange thing on my mixer!

I've ended up Phasing the Old Fashioned way by mixing the same track into itself to get it back over to play on my right deck where stereo wasn't a problem, then I would mix the next track in on the dodgy deck to quickly swap back to the right with a duplicate copy as soon as possible. If that doesn't make sense - don't worry, just listen.

ORIGINAL LIVE MIX * UNEDITED

I was going to mess around and polish this up, but in keeping with my other mixes I've decided to leave it raw and pure - exactly as it sounded when it was created.
