Molly Smith Metzler is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and showrunner best known as the creator of Netflix’s no. 1 show "Sirens" starring Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon, as well as her hit limited series "Maid" on Netflix. Her plays (Cry It Out, Elemeno Pea, The May Queen) have premiered at top theaters across the country, while her TV writing and producing credits include "Shameless," "Orange Is the New Black", and "Casual". Maid, inspired by Stephanie Land’s memoir, earned her a Writers Guild Award and over 67 million views worldwide.A Juilliard-trained writer with roots in upstate New York, Molly brings depth, humanity, and social realism to every project she touches. She’s currently developing new series under an overall deal with Netflix.
