Listen Later

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 4. I will then key in on verse 5 - Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. This verse clearly projects what God's will is for our life - that we all obtain wisdom (and that we have understanding). Today we will complete our study on Saint Paul (the author of 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament). Although Paul had once been Saul of Tarsus, by God's grace he now is a completely changed man. I will read a passage in 1 Timothy Chapter 1: verses 12-17. This passage of scripture should be an encouragement to all of us today. These verses tell us that if we receive Jesus into our hearts and make Him the Lord of our life, it doesn't matter what you've done in the past. Paul had been a "chief" sinner - he had once been responsible for having Christians put to death, but here he is telling us of the grace of God! I will then read a passage from 2 Timothy, Chapter 1: verses 6-12. This letter was written 3 to 4 years after 1 Timothy. Paul is now in a Roman prison - awaiting his death which could come at any time. In these few short verses Paul tells us that we have all been given spiritual gifts, and he is encouraging us to "stir them up". He also tells us clearly that we are not to have any fear in our lives - that God has given a spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Glory to God! Finally, I will close with a passage from the Book of Titus, Chapter 3: verses 1-8. Call to Action - close your eyes for one minute (imagining what it must have been like to have been Paul in that Roman prison. Would you have kept your faith? Suggested scripture reading: Read 1 Timothy, Chapter 1; Read 2 Timothy, Chapter 1; Read Titus, Chapter 3.
