Romans 9 starts with weight. Paul doesn’t speak coldly about truth—he speaks through grief. He wrestles with the hard doctrine of election, not by avoiding Scripture, but by submitting to it. At the same time, his heart breaks for his fellow Israelites, a people who had received so many covenant blessings, yet missed Christ. This chapter reminds us that God’s Word must shape our beliefs, and God’s heart should shape our compassion for the lost.
