It's been a challenging couple of weeks for me since being diagnosed with COVID. I've found myself less productive in the office more than usual. One reason is my diminishing energy levels, especially during afternoons, forcing me to end my day earlier than planned. I'm also grappling with slight brain fog, impacting my focus.
To add to my challenges, my husband is going through his second bout with COVID due to a rebound infection. It's thrown our routine off course and brought on significant stress.
This blog post reminded me that it's unrealistic to expect our schedules to always go as planned. We need to be adaptable and brace for changes.
Just yesterday, feeling completely overwhelmed, I narrowed my to-do list to two primary tasks. Completing those drained me. At 5:00 PM, even though I felt there was a whole day's work still pending, I decided to shut down my computer and rest for the evening.
It's important to recognize when you need self-care. Sometimes it means resting, and at other times, it might mean spending time with loved ones, like I mentioned in the blog post. Remember, we're humans, not machines meant to incessantly produce for others. Ensure you're carving out moments for yourself, whatever your heart and mind require.
