Standing in the school playground aged seven to watch an Aer Lingus plane fly overhead was when Cyril Mannion's absolute passion for flying started. Yet despite his natural aptitude for flying, it took Cyril 42 years for his dream to come true. During his long journey to command of long-haul Boeing jets, Cyril's aviation career had many twists and turns. He first served as an RAF Hercules navigator and Tornado fighter pilot instructor to finally fulfil his purpose to become an airline captain. Cyril followed his own advice; to never lose focus.
