Each week, Luke Grant chats with an ordinary Australian who has achieved extraordinary things.
This week, he chats with the world's oldest rodeo competitor, 94-year-old Bob ‘The Cootamundra Cat’ Holder.
He started competing at age 14, riding all around the country before travelling to the USA to chase his dreams.
There, he became the first Australian to have ever won money riding in America, nabbing around $290 at the 1959 world championships at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Earlier this week, Bob made headlines after it was reported that his silver and gold belt buckle, won 65 years ago at a Bronc riding event at Sidney, Iowa, USA, had been stolen.
Luke chats with Bob ‘The Cootamundra Cat’ Holder, to learn all about his incredible life and find out if his belt has been located.
NOTE:
Police describe the belt buckle as being made of solid silver and gold, with gold inlets. The top of the belt buckle reads ‘Sidney Iowa’ and ‘1959’ is inscribed on each side with Mr Holder’s name at the bottom and an image of a saddle bronc horse in the centre. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
