Matthew 17:9, 10-13
St John Paul II said the key to understand all reality is the loss of fatherhood. The first reading that refers to what the prophet Malichi said: “How awesome are you, Elijah, in your wondrous deeds! You were destined, it is written, in time to come to put an end to wrath before the day of the LORD, To turn back the hearts of fathers toward their sons, and to re-establish the tribes of Jacob.
Advent invites us to ponder the reason behind the mystery of the incarnation, of God’s coming to us in his Beloved Son. Jesus is the one who has come to turn our rebellious hearts back to our Heavenly Father.
