The inclusion of the Black community of actors into mainstream Hollywood has been a long drawn-out scene with several unsuccessful takes.  This year's Academy Award ceremony is a prime example of the lack of value the entertainment industry places on the efforts of the Black community working within the industry's confines.  This year represents a four year low in terms of the number of Black Oscar nominees, with only five black nominees.  How long will the Black community look at the Oscars as the standard for cinematography?  Where should we go from here?  We discuss these questions, and more, in this episode.

The world received shocking and unfortunate news the morning of January 26, 2020, when we heard of the helicopter crash involving Kobe Bryant and eight other passengers.  This is a tragic event that is a struggle to process whether it be from the perspective of a fan, a parent, a friend, a former teammate, or otherwise.  We send our prayers and condolences to Kobe Bryant's family in this trying time.  We echo the same sentiments with respect to the families of the other passengers on board the helicopter.

 The City of Los Angeles will mourn the death of Kobe Bryant, and it will likely be a lingering process.  This situation comes on the heels of the tragic incident involving Nipsey Hussle; another well-respected figure in the Los Angeles community and beyond.  

We recorded this episode the night of January  26, 2020, and we respectfully submit it to offer our perspectives.
