This week's episode finds us hot off the winter retreat trail and we do a quick recap of the theme which was "Rooted". Students share some insight that you'll definitely find helpful. And because what we are rooted in is in direct connection with our priorities and trajectory, we also throw in a chat about goals for this year. What are some goals you have? What a great time we had wrapping up our 2021, looking back at Christmas that was, chatted about the new Spiderman movie (no spoilers, we promise!), talked about goals for 2022, and talked about what it means to bless others. Not a common thing we often think about, but a really powerful way to live.

Joy seems to be something we talk more about in December and at Christmas time, doesn't it? We sing about "Joy to the world, the Lord has come..." but what is joy and what makes it different than being positive or being happy? And in an unprecedented turn of events, Jerry uses the word "sans" (you can judge if he did it correctly) AND we're throwing in a bonus (scrapped) opening! That's right--our first ever BONUS CONTENT!

Yep, big day over here in the 2x4 Student Podcast studios. Big day.

In this mildly festive episode, we sit down and evaluate Christmas movies, while learning that Alyssa has a weird aversion to them all together. To her credit though, she doles out great advice on helping those who struggle during the holidays. Cassie shows us up in the Christmas spirit department, and Hayden (who I like to call Jayden, apparently) learns about "lowkey emo" and is never the same.

All in all, another great episode. Jimmy--we mean Tiny Tim--would approve!

This episode is a DOOOOZY! The 2x4 Podcast crew had the special chance to be interviewed by Mr. JM McGinnis from NYI Connect. We had a blast sitting and chatting about what student leaders are, what they do, and the important difference they make.
