These were the times when I worked from an office/shop front in the town of Paarl in South Africa. At that time I was self-employed repairing and selling IT equipment and providing IT support services to clients. This was back in 2018 and 2 weeks before I closed my business to work from home. It was the best thing I did at the time and still is to this day. On this day of the video, I was practicing working with a GoPro and I captured a video of me driving to and from work on a borrowed GoPro from a family member. Ten days later my wife and I boarded a plane and off we went to our dream Camino walk, the Portuguese Camino from Porto to Santiago de Compostella. On 2 July 2018 while I was visiting Canada I unknowingly said that my next trip would be the Camino, this got imprinted in my mind, and on 24 September 2018, we were accomplishing this dream we have had to do the Camino.
(2021) It's now 3 years since then and life as we all knew it is no longer the same. We need to continue dreaming and aspiring to do the things that we love for we never know what lies ahead. Strive to be happy in your work and find your niche in life. This pandemic of our times Covid-19 has brought with it a lot of devastation and despair but it has also taught us valuable lessons in life which are different to all of us, you will know what it has done for you. Keep up the hope and enjoy life for it is good. If something is not right for you and you're unhappy feeling down, in despair and helpless it is sometimes the wrong spices we add to our life at the time. There's always a better way, go out and find it. God Bless you. Enjoy the music and the vlog.
A long vlog with lots of music and wind. I thoroughly enjoyed producing this video and I want you to imagine the wind and experience it in your mind along with the long grass and different colours of the terrain. Music list available on request.
‘the falcon trail’ - a trail of many sorts - Paarl Mountain 24 October 2020 Our group leader this day was Abie Martin, his message about the hike, "Walk up Waterfall to Oukraal. No ropes required. Then to Bethel Dam wall. Turn right after dam wall and walk down the footpath and walk next to Nantes dam. Return through the garden back or along the road to the vehicles. This hike I baptized "The Falcon Trail" because it looks like a Peregrine Falcon in flight. "

We met our family here for lunch after the easing of the strict Covid-19 lockdown restrictions level 5 in South Africa during the first wave of the pandemic in 2020. It was a heartful meeting and celebration of family coming together. The venue was Cucina Di Giovanni at Laborie in Paarl. We always enjoy eating at this vibrant venue and the food is always tasty, good and fresh.
Our Silvermine hike was recorded on 19 July 2020 during 'lockdown level 3' in South Africa. This was the first Sunday during 'lockdown level 3' that the park was opened for hikers.

Welcome our vlog 3-7-twentyone. The Basic Bistro is a cosy restaurant in the centre of Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. We discovered this restaurant a few years ago and really like their food. We’ve enjoyed meals such as stew, curry and pasta, all with lovely flavours (just like simple home-cooked meals). We like the simplicity and casualness of the restaurant. This was the first time during lockdown that we ate out once restaurants were allowed dining-in (but no alcohol allowed to be served). We created the video in black and white, as the day felt vintage and very different. The lockdown period due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic is a very strange time and not ‘normal’. It was good to be out and visit the town of Stellenbosch. It was quiet with not the usual amount of people around. A different experience.
