There are a lot ways to approach this body of work, but we're taking it head on. Did it live up to the large hype that it was released with? At the time, Nip had put out several successful mixtapes. This week on the 3DC, the boys are reviewing Deondre's pick; the classic album from 2001, Discovery by Daft Punk. This album caught each of the boys at a different time in their lives, but we all understand how legendary this project is. This album represents an interesting period of middle and high school for some of us, a time full of Jackass and Tony Hawk Underground. We tried something new for this one. On this episode, we're reviewing the album "maps" by billy woods, an album that none of the 3 of us heard prior to preparing for this episode. The result was fireworks; two radically different opinions that somehow resulted in some of the best discussions we've had about music. Also obviously it's fucking hilarious. This week, we're covering the 2005 ultimate sadboy project from Death Cab for Cutie, "Plans". This album birthed the now infamous track "I Will Follow You into the Dark", which all 3 of the boys agree has been overplayed into the ground. Come thru to learn if we think this song is actually good? Also, who among us is too grown to appreciate this album? And which of us has played this song at a coffee shop? This week, we're tackling one of the more unique albums that we've ever reviewed; "Pet City" by EEEKS. EEEKS is a Paraguayan fusion-rock band that calls back to an earlier time in music and elicits some interesting responses from the boys. The 3DC boys venture into EDM for the very time time this week with Deondre's pick, "Good Faith" by Madeon. Fair warning, we have some strong and differing opinions on this project.
