I have experienced 3 hidden blessings from spending ample time with mom, amidst the grind of being her guardian, things I never would have expected, but now cling to as great sources of joy in my life. The first is my pride in her, and in her achievements each day, through surgery, therapy, rehab. I am proud of her, like my 6th daughter. The second is her side-splitting humor. She is hilarious at times. The third, life talks, on topics ranging from gaps in family history to the worst advice she ever received in life. Caregiving means we listen. When we do, we are blessed. I give you here some questions you may ask your parent.
