Today we will see the angel Gabriel as he shows up to Mary, a young, poor, teenage girl to let her know that she has been "favored" by God to be the mother of Jesus, the Messiah. We will see the true biblical version of who Mary is - a young girl of 12 or 13 years old. We will see that many times "favored" in the eyes of God means a very difficult life as Mary was about to find out. Suddenly she finds herself pregnant, not married, living in a small town where gossip abounded. But for Mary we see her faith and trust in God at a very young age as she pushes through the difficult days to become the mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
