Suzanne Jabour: “The world today is in the worst version of tribalism. We are collectively being distracted by all of the surface differences. All of the tiny differences and all of the big differences. However you perceive those differences. Some of us see them as inconsequential and some of us see them as really important and critical, but they're really not. The truth is that at our essence, core, soul, spirit whatever you want to call it, we are the same.
We just want the best for ourselves and our families. We want to be accepted. We want to be understood. We want to feel safe. Our basic human needs are universal. And that essence is what connects us on the soul level. We are souls in various packages.
We talk about the humane treatment of animals and yet we've lost track of the humane treatment of each other. It's hard to watch. It's hard to be a part of that. And it's also hard to know what to do.
How do we spread love in this time of conflict, pain, sorrow, and fear?
Understanding that our essence is LOVE helps us to feel safe. It's what makes all of the external things feel less scary, harmful or divisive. If our focus is on how my essence can connect with your essence then we know that we are worthy, we are love, and we are having a human experience.”
