Ginger Root Tea Recipe
  • Step 1: Wash ginger root and peel it (I like to peel it at least), then slice it (amount of slices will depend on how strong you want the ginger taste/quantity to be and how much water you’re using)
  • Step 2: Boil water in a pot (whatever quantity you want-if there’s extra, it tastes amazing saved in the refrigerator and can be heated up later if you don’t want it cold)
  • Step 3: While water is coming to a boil, wash and slice a lemon (again, however many lemons you want to taste, your first time honestly is an experiment to see what you like because everyone is different and everyone’s degree of nausea might determine how it needs to taste for you)
  • Step 4: Add desired amount of ginger slices and lemon to the boiling water and occasionally stir-add fresh honey to the boiling water after it’s boiled for about 3 minutes
  • Step 5: Boil ginger, lemon and honey for at least 3 minutes and taste test with a spoon. The longer it all boils, the stronger it will taste of ginger. I let mine boil for probably 8-10 minutes and added honey to taste throughout the boiling process.
  • Step 6: Turn off the stove, pour freshly hot tea into a mug (I take one of the slices of lemon and add to the cup of tea I’m drinking for fresh taste and add a little extra honey) and let it cool until you’re able to start sipping
  • Step 7: Pour the extra tea into a pitcher (I remove the ginger but leave the lemon slices) and place in the fridge for storage. This beverage tastes great hot or cold! I kept it in my water bottle at work to sip on through the day for my nausea and heated it up when I wanted to sip on something warm and comforting
