June 28, 2022Officially MediaAfter a week off I am back and better than ever! I go over my first race as a media member from the SRX race at Five Flags Speedway. We had action from all 3 series this past weekend and there is plenty to discuss. It was a dominating weekend for drivers like Ryan Preece and Justin Allgaier, however Sundays race was more marathon than sprint. Between two rain delays the complexion of the Cup race changed as JGR went from dominating to trying to catch eventual winner Chase Elliott. Silly season has officially kicked off as two drivers locked up their 2023 plans and a prominent Xfinity team could be making the jump to Cup in the near future. Trackhouse took another checkered flag at a road course this time from first time winner Daniel Suarez! Kyle Busch was able to win Saturdays truck race to avoid a winless season in that series. I also go over Hocevars week and weekend and how it came out as positive as it could. Corey Heim got his second career wins and looks to be ready for the jump to full time competition while Hailie Deegan finally turns up the aggression on the track. We also look at the wreck involving Carson Hocevar and what can be improved in safety response. The simmering feud between Noah Gragson and Ty Gibbs continues to slowly heat up in what is sure to be a battle in the playoffs. And AJ Allmendinger goes from off track pre race to victory lane post race as we look at his busy day. Joey Logano came away with the win Sunday but the story of the day was Ross Chastain and Denny Hamlin mixing it up with some assistance from Chase Elliott. We discuss why that it would be in Chastains best interest to tone down the aggression as he looks for a deep run in the playoffs. Sundays race was the longest in NASCAR history and I still wanted more. With how great the racing was at Charlotte I go over what that should mean for the All Star Race and Texas Motor Speedway. Ryan Blaney was able to leave a million dollars richer, but had to overcome a questionable caution and a battle with his own window net.
