Yep. You read that right. This week, the 3 Wise Cousins are getting into the HYROX athlete who literally pushed herself to the point of sh*tting herself mid-race, Sydney Sweeney’s latest very questionable campaign, and the uncomfortable question that hit a little too close to home…

How far are we actually willing to go to be successful?

💩 THE HYROX INCIDENT — We all love a bit of “no pain, no gain”… but cuzzy, there has to be a line. How badly do you need the win before your dignity gets left on the track?

👀 SYDNEY SWEENEY — Her latest campaign has the internet divided, and naturally, the cousins have entered the chat. Clever marketing? Problematic? Or are we all just chronically online?

This week, Dion, Aki and Reeni are back around the virtual table, and as usual, someone has brought unsolicited opinions, questionable takes, and absolutely no evidence to support them.

First up, we’re getting stuck into Breaking Badly on Netflix and having a good old kōrero about Ray Gunn. Was it actually good? Was it choice? Or did we all just pretend to understand what was happening because nobody wanted to be the first one to say, “Umm… what the hell is going on?” Expect hot takes, cold takes, and takes that should probably stay in the carpark.

Then we’re jumping in the time machine — which is really just our memories and a few embarrassing childhood stories — to celebrate Father’s Day. We’re talking dads, uncles, koro, the legends who raised us, the life lessons they gave us, and those classic dad moments where “I’m not angry” somehow sounds significantly more terrifying than actual yelling.

And then we put the jokes aside for an important kaupapa: Suicide Prevention Week. Checking in on our people, listening, showing up, and making sure our mates and whānau know they don’t have to carry the heavy stuff by themselves. Sometimes “You good?” is more powerful than we realise.

So pull up a chair, grab a cuppa, tell your cousin to stop talking over everyone, and settle in.

Big ambitions. Big opinions. Questionable self-awareness.

Dion, Aki and Reeni sit down to talk about ambition, happiness, mentors and… their own toxic traits. So basically, a completely normal conversation that definitely won’t expose anyone.

Aki kicks things off with the existential crisis: are we actually happy, or are we just convincing ourselves that being busy and ambitious is a personality? And while we’re chasing our goals, what’s the one toxic trait we each have that probably needs to be dealt with?

Then Dion asks the question that could ruin a few professional relationships: Have you ever been pissed off by your mentor or someone higher than you? Because sometimes “I respect you” and “you are really annoying me right now” can apparently exist at the same time.

And just when things get too deep, Reeni brings us back down to earth by celebrating the milestones we’ve hit this year — before making all three of us announce what we’re chasing before the year ends.
