I get so many questions about how to go from chatting on dating sites and apps to actually going on dates.
This can feel clunky and awkward, especially if you’re not used to online dating.
Some women make the mistake of waiting way too long to give men their phone number and end up missing out on connecting with anyone.
Because the truth is, men who are ready for a relationship aren’t going to message you for weeks on end.
You know who will? Scammers, catfishers and men who are looking to play around.
So here’s what I suggest:
After 2-3, no more than 5 exchanges, invite him to call you on the phone.
What this looks like: Hey Bob, it’s been so nice chatting with you here. I’d love to talk on the phone and get to know you better. My number is x. I’d love to hear your voice. 🙂
He will:
Ignore this and keep messaging you - ask 1 more time and then unmatch him
Vanish - do nothing and don’t take it personally
Text you - thank him for the text. State that you’re not a big texter and invite him to call you on the phone
Call you! - This is awesome! Pick up the phone and have a conversation. After about 20-30 minutes, say you need to get going. He will either ask you on a date, say he’ll call back, whatever.
Repeat this enough times and you will go on some dates with men who’ve invested the time and effort into calling you.
