We will start with Jocelyn Rivas. Jocelyn is this badass Salvadorian young woman who is out to break the Guinness World Records for being the youngest person, the youngest woman, and the youngest Latina to run 100 marathons. A marathon is a long distance running race of 26.2 miles. By the time the episode is released, she is only 2 marathons away from 100!

I discovered her through instagram and only knew of her 100 marathon goal but as we recorded I kept being more and more amazed with her story . Jocelyn, thank you so much for joining me.

Joining me is Evelyn Perdomo. Evelyn is funny, smart, and a family woman who I am lucky to call a friend. We talk about how she did not come out of the closet, she was dragged out. We discuss lesbian representation in the media, stereotypes, and same sex parenting.

Joining me is Manuela Vasquez.  She represented Colombia as a professional race car driver for almost a decade and is now a digital creator sharing stories about her number one passion, cars!

Manuela came out at 29 and never imagined she would find love, let alone get married and have a wife. Today, she is living her truth, lives in Mexico City with her wife, and works doing what she is passionate about. A coming of age story and the importance of self love and self acceptance.

Growing up in  Mexican catholic family, I was only exposed to the heteronormative norms of society. So I looked for gay content on the internet like Youtube and Instagram and I discovered that it shadowed my reality. There is content out there but hardly any from Mexican, Latina, or children of immigrants stories. For this series, I recorded with Latinas in the LGTBQ+ community and I am excited to share their stories with you. 

Joining me today is Laura Fernanda Ruiz. She is a Mexican writer, author of ‘Palabras de Desayuno,’ she owns a media production company and is the co host of ‘Las Provincianas Podcast.’ Fernanda lives in Mexico City along with her wife and she joins me to share about her coming in and coming out story.

Lupita.reads is a Mexican queer well known bookstagrammer, a book blogger that highlights books written by Latinx authors and authors of color. She writes book reviews and gives book suggestions. Her wife Valerie is a resident make up artist for Fashion Week in New York, London, Milan, Paris and specializes in fashion , artists, music videos, and red carpet events. Joining me today is Prisca Dorcas, founder of @latinarebels. If you don’t know her from Latina Rebels, you may know her from her viral writing, “Dear Woke Brown” published by HuffPost. She got her Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt University and is currently working on her first book. The bulk of her work is making accessible, through story telling and curating content, the theories and heavy material that is oftentimes only taught in the racist/classist institutions known as academia.  She has published over 200 articles online and has been featured in Telemundo, Univision, Mitu, HuffPost, and Cosmopolitan. In other words, she is a badass Nicaraguense writer who is not just “breaking the glass ceiling,” but using the broken glass to cut open our minds through her writings.
