The Slowdown

30. Reclaiming Attention in the Digital Age

Listen Later

In this episode, I share a recent camping trip that unexpectedly became a deep reminder of how much of my attention is tied to my phone.

With no reception and a dead phone, I started to notice just how automatic my relationship with it had become, and how even its presence can pull me out of what’s right in front of me.

What followed was discomfort, awareness, and a surprising sense of clarity about how scattered our attention can become in daily life.

I also share what I’ve been experimenting with since coming home—small ways of being more intentional with where my attention goes.

This episode is really an inquiry into attention in the digital age, and what it might look like to begin reclaiming it.

I also guide a short somatic practice called Finding Our Focus.
