30somethingoverit - Thank you to our listeners and FB group followers for this Rant - 2 words - Conspiracy theorists --
I don't know about you but in my teens, I loved the doc'so on UFOs, End of the World you name it I was into it, so much so I would get myself scared.
In my 20’s it was all about me me me - and my opinion -- Man it was polarising, The US and what they were hiding, UN corrupt, pharmaceutical companies (I was obsessed with health then) And was more into my best friend Google for the research. What I found, if you are looking for something on google with a specific agenda and goal in mind to what you want to hear you are going to find it!
While conspiracy theories have always existed, add social media to the mix and they reach millions of people in seconds before it can be vetted or censored.
This just adds fuel to the fire! And I believe its wear passion can override common sense at times. For me, this was a time I was right and everyone else was wrong!
On the other side of 30, it was less conflicting and I would now just shake it off, why because I was too busy to focus on such things. I was a mum, a wife, and multiple business owner life was crazy enough without becoming a keyboard warrior. So I kept my now somewhat diluted opinions to myself….
And then COVID came about.. WOW! Have some conspiracies been thrown about now? And the passion behind them, vaccines, The actual virus, politics, the trump saga, 5G you name it … (honestly seeing this really peeved me off, but 20-year-old Sam would have been right into this)
So how do you deal with such polarising opinions and passionate beliefs?
