Lisa Fernandez is one of the most decorated softball players in history, and as a three-time Olympian, she has had some experience with the international tiebreaker that is being used this year by MLB in extra innings: the automatic runner at second base to start the inning.
On this episode of the "30 With Murti" podcast, Fernandez discusses her heartbreaking history with this rule, which helped cost her a perfect game in the 1996 Olympics. And, the longtime assistant softball coach at UCLA also talks about the growing role of women in the coaching ranks of professional baseball.
