Scripture tells the story of a God who draws near to His people. From God’s promise to Moses—“My presence will go with you”—to Jesus’ assurance that He is with us always, the nearness of God is the believer’s rest and confidence. Revelation 21:3 shows where the story is headed: God dwelling with His people forever. When we behold His presence now, we taste the glory that is coming, and worship becomes an anticipation of the day when faith becomes sight.
