What you think you are is what you do. I was going to share with you the 4D planner on this podcast, but I thought this story was more fitting. Oddly, it leads well into the concept of goal setting, which will be the next podcast.
In this episode, I’ll share the interaction I had with a patient, the disgusting patient. I won’t say too much more and let you listen to the episode; I’m sure you’ll find it unique.
I’m also sharing with you a little bit about myself and how I was a bumbling fool when I was learning magic. I’ve also said some stupid things when I was 18 years old, and I’ll reveal them here. Note, I still do say some silly things, but fortunately, I have a teenage daughter who keeps me in check. As well, you’ll see why I fought with my mentor, the genius who taught me magic, and why I broke up the friendship.
I’m not going to give too much away in this description, but I will say the concept of self-identity is a huge fundamental principle in human behaviour. It’s not something we consciously think about daily, but our self-identity, the way we see ourselves, is the most significant influencer in guiding ALL of our thoughts and behaviours.
Welcome to The Introverted Doctor, the podcast that uncovers myths, mistakes, and misconceptions that hold healthcare professionals back from living their best life at work, home, and play. Each week, Dr. Lalit Chawla will present tips and strategies that you can begin applying right away! He's a full-time Family Physician, Adjunct Professor of Medicine, International Lecture and Writer.
In his former life, he was a professional Illusionist and still uses his skills in his workshops, lectures and in the clinical setting. He incorporates magic and illusions in his lectures and teaches healthcare professionals how to use magic in a clinical setting and in the rehabilitation setting.
