As an individual with hyperlexia, Jason Dietrich experienced exclusion, feelings of inferiority, and, unfortunately, inequity within the classroom until he found his island—STEM education. Given his experience, he has always made it a priority to make ALL students feel included.
Today, Jason is a highly motivated, certified educator interested in increasing STEM diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is experienced in training and professional development, global education policy and methods, statistical analysis, curriculum development, and assessment strategies. He also has been mentored by a current Virginia Space Flight Academy (VASFA) STEM Engagement Specialist and has authored a NASA application design to identify hidden barriers to STEM engagement.
