The 2017-18 Australian Baseball League season has started, and for the second year in a row the Brisbane Bandits go in as defending champions. They had a good start to the year, winning 3 in a row against Canberra with one game in the series washed out.

During the series, Chris Coleman sat down for a one-on-one conversation with Bandits CEO Mark Ready and they talked about the success of the Brisbane club over the past couple of seasons and how the Bandits are aiming to become the first side to win three successive Claxton Shields in the ABL era.

Ready also explains the aspirations he has for the club, and provides some insight into what he thinks may happen under the new league structure for next season unveiled by Baseball Australia last week.
