What does the Bible say about Covenants? The Greek translation of covenant means to dispose or give
oneself to another. In Hebrew, it means to cut and to select the best. Covenants are established by the shedding of blood. All covenants are relational (uni/bi-lateral) between God and man and between two or more people. Note: not all covenants involve sex (e.g. David and Jonathan, Naomi and Ruth), but all sex involves covenants. All covenants require "a life for a life", and we know that "life is in the blood" symbolized by the shedding of blood. Think virginal sex.
We know from the book of Genesis, men and women are joined as one body (one flesh) through a covenant that we
call marriage. Paul reminds us that whoever is united to a prostitute becomes one body with her.
God initiates a covenant with humanity. Satan seduces humanity to make a covenant with him. Whenever sex (holy or unholy) occurs, there is always a spiritual entity involved.
We can choose who or what we have sex with (freewill); however, we cannot choose the spiritual entity that is involved in our actions. Through sex, Satan preys upon the weak, the innocent, and the immature.
