I don’t love you as if you were a rose ofsalt, topaz,

or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:

I love you as one loves certain obscurethings,

secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

我爱你，但不把你当成玫瑰，

或黄宝石，或火光四射的康乃馨之箭。

我爱你，像爱恋某些阴暗的事物，

I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloombut carries

the light of those flowers, hidden, withinitself,

and thanks to your love the tight aromathat arose

from the earth lives dimly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, orfrom where,

I love you directly without problems orpride:

I love you like this because I don’t knowany other way to love,
