#33 – Collaboration, community, mum life and multiple side-hustles with Sara Spence

Listen Later

Sara Spence is a doer, and when she thinks of hobbies - her two side-hustles are the things that make life fun (aside from her baby boy and partner of course).

Sara is the owner of a small business called Kate & Kole, an Art Director for a local creative agency and in 2018 she started Fe Collective. Fe was created because from a belief that we can all gain so much from having conversations with other small business owners.

Women often have similar motives when it comes to going into business for themselves. Whether that is creative freedom and financial independence or wanting to be able to balance having a family and a career, the journey is often the same. Fe is a wonderful space to network, share experiences, help where we can and say things out loud. Even if they are terrifying.

In this episode, Sara shares:

+ Her thoughts on taking risks with your side-hustles
+ How they set their brand Kate & Kole apart in a full market
+ What it is it like to collaborate with a friend in business and how to set yourself up to succeed
+ Why you need strong brand clarity
+ Knowing your strengths, outsourcing or collaborating and using your team
+ Splitting your time between multiple side-hustles
+ Why she created a female networking community in Newcastle
