Jesus delivers what is commonly known as :The Sermon on the Mount.” It has so much to consider we will look at it in various parts. Throughout His sermon what qualities a disciple has and He compares and contrasts disciples with others. The first part of His sermon is known as “The Beatitudes”. He issues a number of this then statements, such as “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. The merciful have been blessed, it is past tense. The this statement is the merciful have been blessed. The then statement is that they will receive mercy. Each of these statements are qualities or characteristics of a believer. We should regularly consider Jesus’ entire sermon, but especially the Beatitudes to determine if our life reflects these blessing in our life.
