So… as an organic ministry we learn and grow in plain sight as you will experience at the beginning of this episode. Please excuse the sneezing fit during the first 6-7minutes as we thought the lines were muted. Oops!
Kim sets the context… Love and Truth are inseparable! They work together and are always in harmony. They are ONE.
The Bible is self-explanatory when it comes to Love and Truth, but somehow the church has missed something… or worse.
God IS LOVE -- Jesus is the TRUTH. While love and truth are different (and fully complete), they are ONE! Whenever we talk about Love, we must talk about Truth and vice versa.
Unfortunately, the Church today has separated love and the truth. When this occurs, two things happen: 1) we accept and receive things IN THE NAME OF LOVE that God has condemned; 2) relying heavily on the truth holds people to a standard of right & wrong without grace or love.
LOVE and TRUTH were never meant to be separated. What does the gospel of John say about love and truth in John 17? As you read this chapter aloud, replace the word "God" with "Love". Do the same by replacing "Jesus" with "Truth". Are you tracking???
Could it be the world does not respect the people of God because we are divided and we are NOT one? Some in the church are focused on LOVE and some are focused on TRUTH. Has the church separated what God has meant to be ONE?
Listen on as Kim highlights examples in today's church that separate love and truth and the consequences for the Body as a result. Do you see it manifest in the world today?
God loves us; there is nothing we can do to escape His Love. God reconciled us to Himself (LOVE) through Jesus Christ (TRUTH). As believers, WE need a reconciliation to LOVE when we receive the TRUTH when we are saved.
So, our challenge as individuals and within marriages and families is that love and truth can (and must) dwell together in harmony. LOVE and TRUTH are two complete and separate entities that form a UNITY; they form the foundation of our relationship with God and others.
Be mindful of LOVE and TRUTH in relationship with others. God brings us into balance (in harmony) when we submit one to another.
Do you want LOVE without TRUTH? Do you give the TRUTH while ignoring LOVE in your relationship?
1 John 4:16; John 14:6; John 17; 2 Cor 5:17-19; Psalm 139; John 17:3; Exodus 20; Matt 23:23-26
