"Now all of our distractions, all of those things we would normally use to numb ourselves out, suddenly all of that is taken away and we have to actually sit with ourselves. We have to be present with ourselves. And that - for some people - is an incredibly frightening experience; they spend most of their days trying like hell to avoid it.

"When we're in the trenches, our perspective is so narrow. It's just basically what's right in front of us - we don't have that bird's eye view."

"While I know there's no going back, and while I know that the world will forever be changed because we haven't had an experience like this in the modern world, I can't help but wonder just how many people and how many governments are just gonna go back to where things were. Because the system was set up in such a way where certain people profited, and certain people didn't. I'm hoping that more of us stay awake."
