Gina Applebee and her twin sister were born with a type of retinal degeneration that caused her to be legally blind by age 12, and totally blind by the time she turned 23. 

Gina works as a figure model and is halfway through a PhD program for integral and transpersonal psych and is currently working on her dissertation proposal.

About three years ago Gina started building her tiny home in Charleston which she raised money for and is now finishing.
