35 - Power of Questions

Power of Questions:

Why are questions so powerful?
It's how we make decisions throughout our day and in our lives.
It's also what make up at least half if not more of the thoughts in our brains.

They say we have 60,000 thought daily and over 90% of them are repetitive and unconscious. But what about the other 9%? Do we really know what they are?
How do we decide them? Or do we?

In this episode I talk about how important our inner dialogue is and how our brain is like google. Whatever you ask it - You'll get answers from the search.

So if you ask yourself really negative questions:

  • Why can't I lose this weight?
  • Why don't my kids listen?
  • Why can't  I do it right?
  • Why can't I find Love?
  • Why doesn't my (fill in the blank) like me?
  • Why am I not (good, smart, pretty - fill in the blank) enough

Your brain will give a slew of negative answers:

  • You don't have the right (Fill in the blank)
    • job
    • spouse
    • hair
    • body
    • education
  • You're not smart
  • You're an idiot
  • You're lazy
  • You don't have what it takes

Our questons are powerful, so it's super important to be aware of and intentional on what and how you ask them, especially to yourself.

Power of awareness is how create powerful empowering questions:
The best way I have learned to have great awareness is to empty my thought onto a piece of paper... Uninterrupted and without judgement. Just let the thoughts flow out of you and then take a look at them with curiosity, love and compassion.

Only then can you decide what to do with them.
