Baltimore's Wordsmith bridges all kinds of gaps. As part of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's Strategic Expansion Team, he is building a bridge between the city's classical music icon and Baltimore's majority Black Community. He bridges cultural gaps by partnering with the United States Department of State to expand his global music tours into far flung places that wouldn't otherwise have access to a top-of-the-line concert experience. He even bridges resource gaps through his nonprofit Rise With a Purpose and supporting musicians via record label N U Productions.

While attending University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Royce Massengill traded a sensible degree in business administration for one closer to his literal and figurative dreams. Armed with a degree in Mass Communications he's built up a media business that produces film, music videos and other productions. Definitely check out his current project, the Royce's Rant podcast. We all want to feel like we belong. It's no wonder that growing up harassed by skinheads in an otherwise predominately Latino community, Darren Thompson felt he didn’t belong. It didn't matter that he was book smart, his neighborhood community didn't embrace him. So he made his way to Los Angeles as often as possible. He embraced street life and street racing. It took hard knocks and a felony conviction to get him back in touch with what his parents had tried to instill in him.

Darren currently works as a Waste Water Operator. This job allows him the finances to own his home and the time to take his grandchildren to the park most evenings after work.

A couple weeks before finishing his college internship, Darius Taper was ready for something new. Sight unseen, after graduating from Ball State University, internship completed, he headed straight to Phoenix. He's currently a personal trainer residing in Tempe, Arizona helping people of all ages and backgrounds reach their fitness and mobility goals. And when asked the question about interactions with law enforcement,  turns out he's been stopped twice by the police. Just a warning each time. He's got a theory about that. It started when some men tried to strong-arm Tio Hardiman into paying his brother's debt. Skills he applied out of necessity on the streets of Chicago have now become the effective tools of globally recognized Violence Interrupters community-based mediation program. It was not a straight shot by any means. Along the way he dropped out of high school, dealt with addiction and the kinds of troubles that often befall undirected youth.

Tio Hardiman is the Executive Director of the nonprofit Violence Interrupters. The organization promotes a public-health model of gang intervention scientifically proven to reduce killings and violence.
