  • Identify those fallacies in the following:

    1. She says that it’s good to eat meat but you can’t trust her — she’s a vegetarian so she’s not a meat eater, so can’t say that meat eating is good.
    2. So many people are into the new fitness craze of hopping, it must be the best way to lose weight
    3. The politician supported the policy just a week after he met with Prime Minister Smith. Smith must have really forced him to agree with the policy.
    4. She may be right about the weather but who cares what a jerk like her says about the weather.
    5. The majority of readers are reading our many stories about the president, so we should run more stories about the president.
    6. Sure, she has a degree in teaching English but anyone that boring should be teaching how to go to sleep classes.
    7. If you’re in a glass house, you shouldn’t throw stones.
    8. After I went to the doctor, my boss told me that I was fired. The two of them must be working together to make me lose my job.
