365DaysOfPhilosophy 20 - Podcasting and Philosophy

Listen Later

It seems odd not to point out one of the more modern avenues to learning about philosophy, on a podcast about philosophy… and that is, other podcasts you might like to check out!

Since this week has started looking at fallacies and arguments, there’s a number of podcasts that have investigated logical fallacies — here’s a few that you might like to check out:

  • Logical Fallacies — By Apologetics315.com
  • The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast — while this only goes for 63 episodes, it’s still worth looking over.
  • Some other recommendations:

    • Philosophy Bites features interviews with philosophers on philosophical topics by David Edmonds and Nigel Warburton.
    • You might want to check out the back catalogue and send in your support for shows on Australia’s Radio National like The Philosopher’s Zone, as I know there’s question about funding programs like this — you can find a great range in their back catalogue.
    • The Minerva podcast hasn’t been updated for a little while, but it features little episodes on major philosophical topics.
    • Philosophy Now has some great interviews and I’ve also enjoyed a more history style podcast called In Our Time.
    • Finally, Hi-Phi Nation is a new ten-part audio series, which promises to “weave storytelling, investigative journalism, and contemporary philosophy. It takes ordinary and extraordinary human stories and turns them into an exploration of philosophical questions and ideas.”
    • Do you have particular radio shows or podcasts you use to get into critical thinking? Let me know in the comments at www.365daysofphilosophy.com.
